Regardless, I didn't mind paying for everything again because I love the game, and more money to MotionTwin and the Dead Cells team didn't sound like a bad thing to me.Explore a vast, ever-changing island filled with secrets, branching paths and challenging foes. The problems I had may not even be related to the Switch it could just be my Switch it's an older console, maybe I didn't try everything to rectify the issue. There are still tons of games I have for it that I love. I still intend to keep Dead Cells for it and play it on the go and try to solve my issues or hope for an update that does so. Make no mistake, I'm not bashing the Switch here. The load times and Explorer's Rune activations' lag had doubled, I now have occasional random bits of 5+ second lag, whenever I receive a killing blow the game lags (like, I get hit, lag, then the animation plays), software crashes at least once every time I play, it was so frustrating that I jumped ship to the PS5 where I haven't had really any issues small 1 second or negligible hiccups, the occasional software crash, etc. Some longer load times, slight lag on Explorer's rune activation, nothing that killed the game or hindered any real progress (unless fighting when Explorer's Rune went off).Īfterwards, it was like something had broken. The day that Return to Castlevania dropped, I jumped from Switch (Playing since the release of the base game, mostly docked, but occasionally handheld for trips and such) to PS4 (playing on a PS5)īefore RtC dropped on the Switch, there was some noticeable lag, nothing terrible. I honestly find that it really varies per individual.
